Your first 90 days after registering a company in Russia

Registration is the start, not the finish. In the first 90 days a new Russian entity has a run of deadlines — tax regime elections, banking, payroll registration and the first reports — and missing them creates penalties before you have even traded. This is the sequence, and a free checklist to keep it on track.

What happens, and when

Days 1–14
Confirm tax regime & registrations

Elect or confirm your tax regime, confirm INN/OGRN and statistics registration, and check your VAT position before the first invoice.

Days 1–30
Open the bank account

Complete bank KYC and open the settlement account, then deposit charter capital. Nothing operational moves until this is done.

Days 15–45
Set up payroll & first hires

Register as an employer, prepare compliant contracts, and set up payroll, NDFL and social contributions for your first staff.

Days 30–90
First filings & ongoing calendar

Meet the first reporting deadlines and put the recurring compliance calendar in place so nothing slips in quarter two.

+ common questions

Questions clients ask

What must a new Russian company do first?

Confirm the tax regime, complete tax and statistics registration, open a bank account and deposit charter capital, then set up payroll before hiring. These run largely in parallel in the first weeks.

What happens if I miss an early deadline?

Missed registrations or filings trigger penalties and can complicate banking and tax standing. The first quarter is deadline-dense, which is why a checklist and a compliance calendar matter.

Can you take over an entity someone else registered?

Yes. We frequently pick up companies registered by others, review what has and has not been done, and put the compliance calendar right.
