VAT Compliance Services
The Russian tax law, effective 1 January 2017, introduced comprehensive VAT rules on the supply by foreign companies of e-services to Russian customers (individuals).
Starting 1 January 2019 foreign companies that supply electronic services to companies and private entrepreneurs registered with the Russian tax authorities (including, for example, branches of foreign companies) will have to submit a VAT registration application as well. Registration is compulsory even if the services supplied are VAT-exempt in Russia (for example, in the case of the provision of rights to use computer programs under a license agreement).

- Provision of access to Internet search engines and the maintenance of statistics on Internet sites

- Analysis of whether the services rendered in favour of Russian individuals or business customers are e-services and, respectively, whether such foreign e-service provider is required to register for VAT in Russia
- If the services are treated as e-services-analysis of whether it is possible to apply the VAT exemption (established for the provision of the right to use software/database on the basis of a license agreement) to such e-services (if applicable).
